Towell House

Newspapers can be ordered and delivered to the home. This service is at extra cost.

The Home employs three activity coordinators who co-ordinates social activities for the residents.  Activities are posted on four notice boards on a daily basis – residents are encouraged to participate but only on a voluntary basis. Residents are encouraged to maintain a strong feeling of self-identity by engaging in the home activities, maintaining existing interests, community contacts and making friends with fellow residents therefore promoting a quality of life with positive outcomes.

Laundry is done in-house and is included in the weekly fee – dry cleaning can be arranged at extra cost.

We have a podiatrist who visits weekly to Towell House. This service is through appointment which can be made by the Senior Care Assistant. This service is at extra cost.

An inter-denominational church service is held fortnightly in the Home on a Sunday afternoon.  Local clergy support this service on a rotational basis. Clergy are welcome to visit members of their congregation at any time. The Home will liaise with local churches regarding transport arrangements for residents to attend their own churches.

The Home’s hairdresser is in attendance on a regular basis (Sandra is usually here three days a week) – there is a dedicated hairdressing room.

Our residents can decide to use Optomise, who specialise in the provision of eye care at home. This service allows residents to have their eyes tested here in Towell House.

The home is fully WI-FI enabled and provides IT facilities to the residents through the touch screen computers and tablets that can be borrowed and operated from their individual bedrooms.   The WIFI service is free of charge.
