The Home employs four activity coordinators who co-ordinates social activities for the residents. Activities are posted on four notice boards on a daily basis – residents are encouraged to participate but only on a voluntary basis. Residents are encouraged to maintain a strong feeling of self-identity by engaging in the home activities, maintaining existing interests, community contacts and making friends with fellow residents therefore promoting a quality of life with positive outcomes.
An inter-denominational church service is held fortnightly in the Home on a Sunday afternoon. Local clergy support this service on a rotational basis. Clergy are welcome to visit members of their congregation at any time. The Home will liaise with local churches regarding transport arrangements for residents to attend their own churches.
The home is fully WI-FI enabled and provides IT facilities to the residents through the touch screen computers and tablets that can be borrowed and operated from their individual bedrooms. The WIFI service is free of charge.
